Privacy Policy

This website privileges and respects the privacy of visitors. We don’t use any trackers nor other kinds of tools for marketing purposes. Therefore, we only have installed the necessary plugins for the security and stability of this website and those required by the WordPress platform.

Who we are

Our website address is https://rbarata.com.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form and the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

NOTE THAT COMMENTS ARE NOT ACTIVATED.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact forms

If you send us a message using our contact form, we will receive your name, email address,  message, and other information requested on the contact form in our email only.  We don’t store this data in the servers. We don’t have any contact form, only a direct contact email.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site or use a contact form, you may opt-in to save your name, email address, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me,” your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and indicates merely the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after one day.

If you accept our cookies policy when you visit our website, that information will expire in one year.

NOTE THAT WE DON’T HAVE THE REGISTRATION OPTION ACTIVATED.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website. We will try to minimize it so you will not have trackers from other websites trying to take information from you. However, we are always under the control of WordPress policies.

Analytics

We use the basic Jetpack, integrated with the WordPress platform. If you use this website, it will collect your country, referrer, and pages visited only.

Who we share your data with

We do not share your data with anyone unless you officially request it.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is to recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue. We don’t have the comment option active on this website.

There is no automatic registration available to create an account. All accounts are created by the administrator, which will request a username, e-mail, and first and last name for diploma/certificate purposes. Information is stored on this website, as well as all your progress in registered courses. Website administrators can see and edit that information (except username) but cannot see your password. They are only able to reset it if requested by you.

Courses and services

We only receive your email and name when you contact us for more information or make the inscription. The email will be our main contact with you, and we only contact you regarding updates or necessary information about the services or courses you have with us.

We will send you through email a direct link and password for Zoom in some situations that we need to have a video call or a meeting. For a direct contact, we can suggest you to add us on Skype. We are not responsible for the privacy policy of those platforms.

We will not use your email for newsletters or automated advertising services.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

NOTE: If you request the deletion of your account, you will lose all your information, including your course progress, content, messages, certificates, and any other kind of information only accessed by your account. This process is irreversible.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments are checked through an automated spam detection service (Akismet Anti-Spam).

Visitors are checked through an automated firewall (WordFence), which will collect your IP, location, and internet operator. However, we only check this information if WordFence sends a spam alert or website breach-related to the IP, which is very rare since the IP blocking in the circumstances above is an automated feature.

Registered users are also checked through the services above.

Your contact information

Any contact about your data should be done to rb@rbarata.com
